What is Passkey?
Passkey is a Fast Identity Online (FIDO) feature provided by CoinEx for rapid identity verification. Passkeys are used for secondary verification, providing users with a convenient experience without the need for verification codes, as well as enhancing the protection of users' assets and account security.

Supported Passkey Types
CoinEx supports the following three types of Passkeys, and you have the flexibility to create any of them.
1. Create Passkey on this device
Create a Passkey on the device you are currently logged in to, using the biometric capabilities such as fingerprint or face recognition configured on this device.
2. Create Passkey using another mobile device (phone or tablet)
Use your mobile phone or tablet to scan the QR code displayed in the explorer for creation.
3. Use a physical USB as a Passkey
Insert a physical USB identity authenticator (such as YubiKey) into your computer, and follow the explorer instructions to complete the creation.
Conditions for Creating Passkey
1. You can create a passkey on the following devices:
- Computers running Windows 10 / macOS Ventura or later versions
- Mobile devices running iOS 16.0.0 / Android 7.0 or later versions
- USB security keys supporting the FIDO2 protocol
2. Your computer or mobile device also needs to have an explorer that supports FIDO, such as:
- Chrome 109 or later versions
- Safari 16 or later versions
- Edge 109 or later versions
- Firefox 122 or later versions
3. Sometimes, to create and use a passkey, you may also need to enable the following features:
- Bluetooth: If you want to use a passkey on your phone to log in to another computer, you must enable this feature.
- iCloud Keychain: When setting up a passkey on Apple devices, the system will prompt you to enable iCloud Keychain.
How to Add a Passkey?
1. Visit CoinEx official website (https://www.coinex.com), log in to your account, and select [Security Settings] under [Account] in the top-right corner.
2. On the "Security Settings" page, click on [Manage] next to Passkey.
3. Click on [Add] to create a new Passkey.
4. Obtain and enter "Email Verification Code," and click [Next].
5. Enter "TOTP/SMS code", and click [Next].
6. After clicking [Create Passkey], follow the instructions provided by your computer/mobile browser.
7. Choose the method you prefer to create the Passkey in the pop-up window.
Below is an example of binding a security key:
(1) Insert and lightly tap the security key.
(2) Enter the PIN code and click [Next].
(3) Tap the security key again to complete the authentication process.
8. After completing the identity verification as instructed by the browser, the binding will be successful.
Notes:
1. Each user can add up to 10 Passkeys.
2. For security reasons, the withdrawal services are prohibited for 24 hours after deleting a Passkey.
How to Change the Name of a Passkey?
Click on the [Modify/Pencil] icon next to the Passkey to rename it.
